Using AI in email marketing with Klaviyo

We have a partnership with Klaviyo. As one of the best email marketing platforms on the market, it is only natural we’d want to work with them, and we encourage our clients to do so to.

There have been a lot of SaaS (software as a service) tools that have come to market over the past six to nine months and some of them are okay, some of them are just a race to say you use AI… others are pretty exciting.

When I got the preview of Klaviyo and its new AI functionality, I got pretty excited – after all, I’ve been a bit of a geek for the internet since 1994 and I love new tools to play with.

Improving segmenting for email marketing campaigns

Through careful analysis and understanding your data, segmentation is a key aspect to driving great metrics in your email marketing campaigns. It’s not something that is easy, and often we find that our customers (and sometimes even me) know how they want to segment their data in Klaviyo, but they can be hard to know which of the many parameters to use or how to stack them.

That is, until now.

Using AI to optimise lead capture forms and automate A/B testing in Klaviyo

One of the things we get asked by our customers is “when should we show our signup forms on our website”. The truth is, it’s a near impossible question to answer accurately first time as each site will differ greatly but the key thing is, you don’t want to give your prospective a poor user journey. You have to A/B test it and learn what your customers respond to best.

With the new AI advancements in Klaviyo, you can now set your forms up and let artificial intelligence work out the best time for your forms to be shown. This will maximise your sign-up rate and allow you to build smarter campaigns.

What is the future for AI in email marketing with Klaviyo?

One of the other tools that Klaviyo are going to release is the ability to tell AI how to dynamically design a content block in your email. This is a pretty cool feature that our self-serve customers will love… us not so much as it means less work for us! (ahem)

Where I personally see this working to its full potential is with your campaigns and flows in Klaviyo. Imagine sending out a campaign with a block chosen by AI at the instant it sends.

“Insert products that my customer will be interested in based on past purchase habits and prioritise products they have viewed on our website but not completed.”

Or maybe something more personal:

“Insert a dynamic promotion code that gives a discount aimed to maximise the revenue potential of the customer. If it is their birthday or anniversary of a customer, add in an extra 5% incentive”.
