Knowing when the time is right to Migrate from Magento

When family-run business Flooring Supplies Direct came to us back in 2017 to create a new website, they wanted something that would give them a solid foundation for years to come.

The site had served the business well for almost a decade, and when Elaine came to us for advice with their site, we looked at options for how to progress the website.

Looking at the overall cost of ownership for Magento 2, we concluded that migrating to WooCommerce would provide a more cost-effective option than sticking with Magento. Something that is common with lots of our clients.

Launching a new website needs careful attention to the core vitals of the website.

Looking at the effectiveness of the search, providing consistency in URL structures, progressive work on organic keywords, and making sure the site has a well optimised user journey are all essential.

Within a month of launch, the signs were encouraging with all tracked keywords progressing and new keywords ranking; active users to the site more than doubled; year on year sales up by 121%.

With our old site in place for almost ten years, we knew that the time was right to start considering a new site to make sure that our business continued to grow in 2025 and for the years to come.

From the designs that Emily created, through to the development that Avinash and the team put into the site, each aspect of the website has been carefully thought out. The team at Courageous has also used the data from our old sites to make smart choices with the build of the new site.


We instantly saw a positive difference in the analytics with our conversion rates increasing through an improved user journey, with our year on year sales increasing.
